lego friends: my favorite cute little childhood game

i'm sure you've heard about lego, those funny blocks! and you might have heard about lego friends, a series of those funny blocks thats just some girls being cute. im pretty sure they're still making the series, but all the way back in 2013, there was a game. there seems to be a newer mobile racing game released, but the one im talking about is for the 3DS. i have such vivid memories of playing the game when i was much younger, all of the minigames, each characters story, blah blah you get the point, little skitty loved this game. recently the game suddenly spun into my train of thoughts like a lot of things from my childhood do, but this memory was particularly speical so i knew i had to find the game. but of course i wasn't able to play it on a 3ds anymore, but this is where my favorite element of the internet comes into play: no matter how obscure, someone somewhere will say something about it. so after looking through some "anyone remember this game" reddit posts, i found out that there was, of course, an emulator for it, and oh my god guys i cannot tell you happy i was. the stars had aligned and i could play my dumb childhood lego game my brother always made fun of me for. i played it for like 3 hours straight, and those were the best hours of my life...maybe thats a hyperbole. so many memories were coming back of little skitty playing the game, all of the minigames that annoyed me, all of the character voice lines i thought sounded funny..you know the feeling of uncovering a childhood relic. of course, now that im an experienced gamer and substantially raged at dark souls, the minigames were a breeze and i managed to three star all the levels without fail, but it was still a lot of fun in a strange way. the game isn't too mechanically deep, you explore lego friends world of heartlake city and become closer with the friend group while getting to do some little activities (mostly their chores) with them, like going to a horseback riding camp or scavenger hunts, but it feels like so much more to me now. i even remember how i would try to seperate the friends tasks for their questline into an order that made to most sense for a storyline, which im still doing now, haha 😭 and i managed to perfect the stupid horse riding mini-game i hated as a kid! but of course, this raises the question, "isn't this a little embarrassing?" and well...yes, yes it is. it is embarrassing for me to play a silly lego game about building friendship with basic minigames and forced dialouge. but man it's worth it. most embarrassingly fun moment of my life 💞 horse trauma: CONQUERED.

i...need a boba.
